I've got a church retreat this coming weekend on Richland Chambers. I don't know much about the lake, only been on it once and all I remember is how rough it was and that we slabbed up some whites.

Any pointers on where to fish and what with? How about for some night fishing?

Will mainly be targeting whites but have nothing against hybrids, crappie, or cats. I'll be fishing from a 25' catamaran.

My Son and I will be fishing everyday this week so feel free to find us at the Boat Ramp at Fisherman's Point Marina (around 6:30AM) or give us a call. The Whites will be active and the Crappie will be ???. Probably back to the deeper water as the spawn is near an end.

I was catching crappie in 15 ft of water on Saturday down by the damn near the gates. I was using a small silver slab! Hope this helps. The sandbass were on every hump in the lake I think, but they were all small with the keepers barely over 10 inches.

If Royce is offering help take it! He's on the lake everyday and knows where the fish are. I did a half day trip with him earlier this year and learned more spots than I can thoroughly fish in a day.

That's where we (the retreat) are staying is at Fisherman's point. I'll be in a 22' CC w/ a blue T top. There will be about 200 men there and about 40+ boats...should be lots of fun I'll be fishing Thurs- Sat and will look for you at the docks. We have had luck in the past drifting off the island and slabbing. (I guess it would be on the south side of the lake/ west of 287) You need a big boat sometimes b/c it gets plenty rough on that point. Any other hot spots?

First point out of Fishermans to the right is Wind Sock, there were quite a few fish caught there Saturday morning early as well as along the dam itself.

I met Royce Simmons this weekend and he is, a class act gent, as expected.

200 Fishermen and 40 Boats!!!! WOW!

We haven't had that many boats on RC in a while. Just go to the 309 Flats and you'll be with the Boat Show. Should be able to walk from boat to boat with your Group and the Weekenders! Bring Slabs and Rat-L-Traps and you'll do fine.

Think I might have to find me a few new spots before the Weekend as that many boats will limit the Schooling activity.

I would say about 100 fisherman....the rest will probably play golf on Saturday. Expect to see people showing up Wednesday...most will be in on Friday night. You're welcome to stop by camp.
