Does it have a big cover on top of the tank? If it does, you can take it off and re-seal the gasket later with permatex. Siphon most of the gas out. Sop out the rest with sponges or rags. If there is hard caked spots, you will have to scrub that out with scotch brite or a scraper of some kind. Then you will have to finish with some kind of solvent. You better ask about what type of solvent.
