I have been hesitant to post any further info about the Fork fish-in because, yet once again, my parent's neighbor will not call back to confirm the dates until the very last minute. It is a pain in the *** to go through this everytime and not know until the last minute if we can use his shore line.

For those of you who know about the shoreline that I am talking about you know that there isn't a house there that he lives in so it's not like I can walk over and knock on the door. This is simply a shoreline that he and his family occassionaly camp on.

If he calls back by this Monday I will post the rest of the details. If he doesn't than I will be calling it off. Future fish-in's will have to be smaller groups upon request on my parent's lot only.

I will keep everyone updated. Y'all will know as soon as I know.

Should we come up with a back-up venue in case Jason doesn't hear from him?

Zach, can that hold the amount of anglers that the fish-in already has coming? That would be my first concern for a back up venue, followed by, would we catch?

I was considering Whitney, carp wouldn't be as big, but they are plentiful, and there are buffs in there over 50lbs as well.

This lake reminds me of Athens. And someone just shot a 31+lb carp from there in March! Hopefully it wasn't the only one! wink

Ah, forget that. Go the Trinity and catch all the 5- to 10-pounders you want!

Oh, and it's free and the West side could support 20 anglers.. just have to be cautious of the locals...

BUT, the last time I fished it was last year... 48 hours = 5 cats... good eating size though.

If the Fork fish-in is canceled I would be interested in some type of backup. My wife and I both have off and I bought a bunch of camping equipment! wink
