We walked down behind the house this evening because my son (2 year-old) would not leave my fishing rod alone. We caught a couple of bass then he insisted that he reeled it in. Wam! He got a strike and I kinda tried to set the hook...(as best as I could since I was not holding the rod.) My son reeled it in all by himself and his first fish was the largest crappie any of us have ever caught. I was proud of him. I'm not sure how large he was...maybe some of you can take a guess. I've caught some huge crappie in my lifetime, but none as large as the one Michael-Jesse caught today!  My 5 year old girl had to hold it for him...

nice fish
sensitive isnt crying after a sad movie, its when you can feel a bass nibble on your jig 20 feet down..

dang it could eat two of your beautiful young lady's hands, i'd say its pushing 2.5-3.0 pounds. i'm just trying to remember the last time my 4yo niece punched ol "uncle jeff" in the belly and how big those hands were, great fish!

yea... this was us messing around before he caught it:  This was him with it on (I was so nervous that he was going let the rod go ie: Curado w/ a Castaway rod!  ) LOL!   This was him after...not wanting to leave to try and catch another. He was insistant that HE reel everything in. Everytime I took it away from him to cast it back out he would throw a fit!

Wow that is a big crappie congrats to your son,you should send that pic to the TPWD and get him a big fish award and congrats to you for taking the time to fish with your kids.Man you should send that pic in for a cover photo the last pic is a classic pic wow again congrats.
