If you're going to fish Texas you're going to have wind.

Why would you want to throw something weightless in a 40 mph wind?

My Maria does it. It's not my favorite thing but she likes to catch bass too and she's NOT on MY page. She DOES catch fish.
She like's a Senko.

Rod doesnt matter the weightless soft plastic is gonna slim across the top of the water column even a Senko wont drop in 40+ mph and you will have a such a huge bow in your line you wont feel the bite even if you get one. My advise is put some weight on it a regain some control! Good luck brother and be safe!

60 foot rod-just tie to end and push to bottom

The worst times fishing are still better than the best time thinking about it.

If you feel like you HAVE to fish it in 40 winds, here's something I do.....Put the wind at your BACK, drop an anchor out the back, and this will alleviate the bow in your line and your senko will still sink....However, if it really were 15-20 mph winds (you dont even need to be on the water in 40 so I'm assuming you're exagerating a tad there), you'll prolly wanna put an 1/16 or 1/8 oz pegged slip sinker in front of it...This should make it to where you can at least FISH it
