I'm getting the feeling that the Team Daiwa Fuego is being phased out. My thinking here is that at $230 the Fuego is at a major disadvantage to the Zillion which is only $20 more. Also Cabelas has them marked down to $200.
Any thoughts, anybody?

I am of the understanding that Cabelas is simply nit gonna carry them any longer. I have received no news from Daiwa that the Fuego is going away at all. Its also night and day different from the Zillion. It is still gonna be offered as far as I know.

Hold one in your hand and you can feel the difference. I just bought a Fuego and have gronw to really like it. The drag is not quite as smooth as the Curado but it more than makes up for it in other areas.

My money is on the Zillion in that price range. I even like the Advantage better than my Fuego.

Different strokes different folks. I bought mine for the weight and the larger worm eye.

I have been fishing the advantage super tuned (153 HST) and really like them. Don't have a zillion but a buddy has one and says that the advantage is just as good...and it is about $100 less.

I have been fishing the advantage super tuned (153 HST) and really like them. Don't have a zillion but a buddy has one and says that the advantage is just as good...and it is about $100 less. I went into Cabelas planning on buying the Zillion. I was looking it over and the guy said I should check out the new Daiwa they got in the day before, the HSTA. I started looking at the HSTA and really liked it better than the Zillion. It felt smoother and better in my hand, so I bought it. I took it to the register expecting it to be around $250 and when it was only $159, I couldn't believe it. After fishing with it, I commented in one of Mark's threads about the new Daiwas that I couldn't imagine paying for a Zillion when the HSTA seemed like such a better reel. To me, the Zillion fell short of the HSTA, the Shimano Chronarch and the REVO STX and Premier. Maybe if I fished with it, I would have felt differently, but compared with the others, I'd never buy one. I'd still like to try a Fuego, so maybe it's time to pick one up on sale at Cabelas.
