Hi guys, take a look at what we have been catching over here in the freezing UK, you probably have bigger ones there, but they're new to us!

Cuttlefish

Thats at a place called Torquay, in South Devon, temperature was getting on for about 3 or 4 degrees centigrade, but hopefully it'll warm up soon! We froze the squid down for bait, they've been around for a while, these are the first ones we've caught on purpose.

Delicious. Need a recipe?

How deep is the water you're fishing, and what are the tasty molluscs hitting?

Squid jigs mate, just google it and you'll see what they are, we're not going to eat them, we cut them into long strips and tip off worm baits for flatfish like Plaice, or fish them in chunks for rays and bull huss, (a member of the shark family)
Everything over here eats squid, it's a fantastic bait, we pay 2.99 a box for Calamari from California! Thats probably about $5.80 to you guys, we fish those whole, Bass (European Sea Bass) and Cod love them. You can also buy little squid, about 2 inches long, we use those for Black Bream, we were catching Pollack the other day that were regurgitating little Squid, do you use them foe bait there as well? It's off of a pier, so I guess the water's about 10-18ft.

I can't believe you can't that using a dog as bait. That never works for me on bass.
