NBC is reporting that someone on a pontoon boat drowned today on Joe Pool trying to tie to a bridge pillar under Lakeridge Parkway. I hope everyone on the TFF is accounted for.

God bless.

He jumped in the water trying to tie the boat up? Very sad.

Official report said he fell out of his boat trying to tie up. Some news places confused it up a bit I believe...

That is tragic and I have seen people falling out of the boat trying to tie up to a piling.

Very sad...

It's a reason to think about every time we are too lazy to put on our life jackets. As much as I hate to wear one, I had to buy 2 automatic inflatable ones.
Heart broken...I was out there this afternoon....

Wow, I almost went out there this afternoon. Lifejackets are a must, especially on windy days, but hindsite is always 20/20.

Prayers for the family, hate to see a fellow fishermen pass.

That's why they call it fishing and not catching!

Man, that's terrible...scary...sad. Same here...I've nearly fell out of the boat trying to tie up to bridge pilings on RC, it's definately an eye-opening experience.

Prayers sent for the family, and friends of this fisherman.

God, protect us all.

I drove over the bridge around noon yesterday and figured something must have happened with all the Grand Prairie fire trucks, ambulances and police parked at the bridge, and the GP Police boat putting around. Very sad.

The man that passed yesterday was a good friend of mine. He has probably roped on those piers 100 times or more. Freak accident.
We would always check to see what you guys had to say the Friday before we headed to the lake so we would know where to fish. Thanks

I fish under bridges myself and was working on a suction device that would hold a boat under windy conditions for a while. My Wife fell out of the boat at Cedar Creek while trying to tie up but she was wearing a life preserver and didn't even fuss much about other than telling people I pushed her. I agrre that in windy conditions wearing a life preserver is a must.

I have been hearing too many stories like this lately. I wear my vest all the time now regardless of the wind.

This is sad reading. I pray for the fellow fisherman and his family. This is something I know I take for granted. A lifejacket is the only way. Some many times I go without. In a heartbeat, we can be in the eyes of our Lord.

Thats tragic. Don't know how many times I have made DBwoman put her life jacket on in rough water. Think I need to practice what I preach. I'll say a prayer for him and his family.
