confused I know that this topic probably should be in the rod and reel section, but I feel that this category has more hits and faster info...

My question is...I have a rod that I love, one of the guides in the middle of the rod has lost the center piece. I have heard that you you can use tape to replace it but what kind? And do you put any glue on it? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have replaced the guides at the tip before but these seem more complicated.
