bush library has a pond and there's one by the police station on texas ave as well

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

Yegua creek on Sommerville should be hopping!! I used to fish in the Navasot behind the speedway and catch a ton of little cats. It just depends on how much you want to drive.

Fished Yegua Creek (Newmans Bottom) last Friday, caught 10 whites total. But theyre mostly leavin the creeks.

Fished behing the spillway at Gibbons Creek and caught 2 7lb yellows, several blues in the 3-5 lb range, and about a dozen or so smaller size channels and blues, and even some small black bass and crappie. Most was caught on live shad (3-6inch) that was caught using a cast net at the boat ramp. Others were caught on chicken liver as well, including a few nice buffalo. These are all the fish that were caught in 3 trips down there. Havent been able to get down there in couple weeks though.
