most of ya'll may already know this but i thought this was really intresting, i've been fishing "capt cove"hubbard now for about a year striaght and off and on have caught approx 70ish crappies and maybe out of the whole mess only 10 were 10" or bigger ..so i have pretty much blanked on keeper sized crappie...to make a long story short a really good o'l fellow told me...when you see the gar move in here,fish shallow by the bank...so last thurs/friday night i saw several long nose gar....went to the bank...blk/chart jig...I FINALLY HAVE CRAPPIE IN MY FREEZER!WOO HOOOOOOOOO

Yeah I've heard of that to. Sounds like it works good. Release them in some grease.
