Congratulations. The DFW chapter of TKF is planning an outing on the west side of the metroplex third week of April. A dozen or so yak fishermen are already planning on going and I am sure it will grow. A plastic navy is a site to behold, and yak fishing is the most fun I have ever had!

Where might this outing take place?

It is still unofficial, but it looks like Cleburne state park. www.texaskayakfisherman.com
The DFW chapter is a forum you have to request permission to join. The moderator will give you permission. The site is mostly upper coast guys saltwater fishing, but the DFW chapter has plenty of members. Someone will always post "meetings" on this forum as well for those who dont wanna join the other.

I know what you mean Carper.

I bought a yak from a guy on TKF last Friday and took it out to Joe Pool on Saturday.

It took me about 100 yards worth of paddling before I starting thinking of things I would like to have done before I went out.

I did catch my first ever carp though, it went after a yellow jig I had in the water as I was paddling to a new spot.

Hopefully I'll see you at the DFW chapter get together, the last one I went to was a lot of fun.

Hey guys,
I am the DFW TKF mod and signing up is a cinch. I check this board once in a while. You may see me at the next gathering. There are about 130 people on the DFW list, and you get about 10 percent participation. Good folks.
