Purtiss - since 1990, will be there in the am. lets see if the reports are right about no grass and bass.

Two wheels or two reels, either way I'm happy.

d dub,
Have you been to the grasslands lately? I was at Rhodes last week. Only caught a couple but it was good to get on the water again. See ya out there.

i've got this private farm pond i go to and the only way to fish it is in a tube lots of reeds along the banks and my dad don't want to cut them down (he thinks it makes the kids in the area want to fish his pond) so we don't cut the reeds but man is the fishing great the last time i went was in august and we (me and my wife)caught at least 20 apiece in 3 hours
god that was fun

David,

I have an extra,if you want to get out sometime. It's a well-used Togiak, but it holds air, which is all that matters!

sorry forgot to report...

Well it was really windy - so it was tough, caught 9 - all under 4 lbs. a few dinks, early morning bite was on a jig + pig, and the afternoon was on Zoom 6 inch black/blue tail lizards. it was pretty much hitting them in the head fishing.

Thanks to nice guy in the silver blue boat that gave me a handful more lizards as I ran out early - class act bud, since I was all the way up past the "woods" it would have been a longgggg way back to get more from the truck.

The water was in the low to mid 60's probably due to run off during the last rain storm. Saw a few beds, but no fish on them, all fish cuaght had NO signs of spawning. water was well stained

Now since it has been over a week - I bet the spawn is in full swing, I will be heeding back this weekend if all goes as planned. More to come then.

as far as grass, still came across grass here and there, I still contend that while the grass carp are having some affect, the high water last year late is the major cause of hydrilla loss. We will know in a few weeks for sure.
