We plan on visiting Corpus and Port A in the first full week of May. We love to fish for fun, the best kind. However we have a couple of dogs in tow. Any tips for places that could be both plentiful for some fun rod time and yet friendly for dogs and access? Nothing too difficult to walk would be great.

although it is hit or miss for springtime big weight, the channel to the north of the aransas causway is very easy to access, very open and even when its slow can produce a variety of fish. a couple of weeks ago i was going down the channel and looked at the shore and saw a group with what must have been a 30+ pound bull red.
also i have seen people with dogs on the north pier on the island and noone seemed to mind, i did but thats only because the dog must have been good luck because they double my bag.

Thanks for the info, everyone wants a heavey weight but we'll take anything for the fun of it. Any other advice for the area is always welcome.
Thanks
