went yesterday caught 13 in a couple of hours. All between 2 and 4 lbs. Buck bass on beds in the typical spawn area. Only saw one big female cruising.

Went this afternoon lake above flood level and all the sight fishing is looking like mud pie.

Did you catch any females? On the part of the lake that my house sits on they have not moved up. I caught most of mine sight fishing. How about you?

will be there friday afternoon through sunday noonish

Anyone try by the dam? I saw them bedding just past the public boat ramp by the dam last year, but didn't spend much time because the dropoff was producing like wildfire on a carolina rig.

Plan on friday night hitting the slu by the wardens office, and then fish that bank all the way down to the big white house by Cherokee club.

Saturday morning I plan on going to the discharge early, then reversing direction and going to the upper end under the bridge, and finish up over in that big flat opposite the power poles in the main lake, it used to have a bung of wood posts and an orange cone.

Sunday I will head wherever i caught the most the previous two days.

Thinking my rods will have

Texas rigged brush hog
Wacky rigged worm (senko or trick worm, not sure which yet)
Shallow red crankbait
Chartruse/White 1/2 Oz spinnerbait
Black/Blue Jig n Pig

with a weightless lizard in the batters box
and a carolina rig ready to be called in if Texas isn't preforming well enough

fftuck and shank-n-bass, i would like to meet up you some time and you could show me what you know and i could show you what I know. I do not care to do any of the tournaments that they host, but I would like to catch beter quality fish. I recently started fishing lake cherokee from a boat, but I do know several spawning holes that hardly no one knows of.

I have a place in front of my lot that probably has 20 bucks on bed as we speak and nobody ever stops and fishes. Last year from the bank I caought 2 over seven, and several between 5 and 6 pounds.

I do not mind helping if others are willing to show me what they have learned about the lake.

I grew up on this lake but have not fished it in a yr or so. Right now I would be in the shallow water and up around the boat houses. If you can get the the other side of the bridge start with the boat houses on the south side and work your way back until you run out of boathouses.....and keep going. Later on in the summer time i would hit the tree line where the sticks stop and the ski water begins, and tear up the scholing bass.....you will have to deal with all of the Jet skis but most will not get close enough to bother the schools. Like one poster said before you will always have good luck at the water discharge. Oh yeah fish all around the bridge too!! There are tons of good fish in Cherokee for such a small lake.

Now ya'll make me want to go!

I bet it's kind of muddy now though!

It is super muddy. The extra foot it came up yesterday did not help.

I just started fishing this lake seriously, I've lived on it for 8 years but have always been too busy to really fish it besides the occasional trip where it was more drinkin beer than fishing. LOL We ought to get together and go sometime.

That being said I've always caught fish around the bridge and the dam.
