Any body know how to do a steering adjustment on a motor guide tour addition. My question is when you are going straight forward what position is the foot pedal in. Plus what is the right tension on the steering cables.

my foot pedal is horizontal when the motor is going straight - that way when I push all the way heel or toe the motor is pointing backwards. as for adjusting, I don't think this is easily done as the cables wrap around a spindle in the head - they might be harder to get right than to take loose You can adjust tension with the spring barrels on the cables at the bottom of the pedal.

All you have to do is: Loosen the tension knob on the trolling motor shaft and turn the head and upper shaft until you get the pedal where you want it. It takes less than a minute to do.

I want my toe to be a few degrees above horizontal when moving straight. That way I am comfortable either sitting or standing.

Put the TM in the down position. Loosen the tension knob so the head/shaft will turn. Align the power unit straight then turn the head until the foot pedal stops where you want it. Then tighten the tension knob on the shaft.
