Small hammerhead about 2' long. When I came by the 90th street pier there were only about 4 people on the pier that I could see. I think somebody was pulling your leg.

Most of the fish were being caught early morning. I managed to do o.k. Tuesday. I was about midway down the pier on the west side. That area seems a more productive during the afternoon. The shallows were apparently good earlier in the day and, in the evening, but good luck getting a spot there!

Hey, bobtx, hope you didnt take my post wrong. I was stating that the report from Cory didnt match what I saw. I guess I'm too skeptical of reports coming from piers. If they tell you the fish aint biting then no one would go. If they tell you everyone is killing 'em then people have a tendency to go down there.

Gave the Galveston fishing pier a try today from 11 am to 6pm. The water was rough and the surf was actually big enough to surf on. I ended up with 4 whiting, two sting rays and a 4 pound gaff top. I also got a 2 foot bonnet head shark. No drum, sheepshead or reds while I was there, but two people caught 5 lb gafftop. There were hard heads everywhere! I went through two lbs of shrimp as the slimy fish followed me around the pier! Bobtx you didn't miss much maybe fishing will improve next week.

I also gave it a try at Galveston Pier Friday night/Saturday Morning. No luck at all. Only a few small Cats and 1 small hammerhead. I also tried SeaWolf Park Saturday night no luck there either. I did see a guy pull a nice keeper drum in the whole 8 hours I was there fishing. I wonder what happend this weekend? Any1 have any clues why they weren't bitting like everyone said they would be?

Use cut crab the hardhead will leave you alone or should I say not as many.

The conditions are Looking Good.
What's going on there on the beach? Anybody?
The Chronicle said 79 degrees for water temp. Is that so? Must be a Typo.
Any specks yet??
I heard from a source that the Macks and Gafftops are starting to show as well as those pesky "Shititas" (Hardheads). Specks should be there soon.
Good luck to all!

The Bonnet head I caught last week turned out great, on the grill. No funny taste at all. I am going offshore Sunday, but want to give the Galveston fishing pier a try monday am.

Sat 5 th April Galveston Fishing Pier reports lots of keeper reds, keeper drums being caught. Aslo lots of whiting and gafttops. Bonnetheads and stingrays moving in close to shore. Some pompino's and spanish macs but no specks. Water is in very good shape and low winds should make excellant fishing along with good tidal movement. Hopefully I will have some help hired soon so I can go fishing .
