I've been catching and cleaning bream since forever and my technique for cleaning them is that old too! If there big enough, just start right behind gill, turn knife and cut to tail, flip filet, cut away from skin, cut out rib bones...rinse and repeat...This modmusky guy takes it to a whole 'nother level. I have the same 7" rapala knife but wow, his knife is alot sharper!!

Check it Out!

Man, I can't wait for May to hit..,I've been trying to stay occupied chasing crappie but they don't come close to the mayhem of bobbers and crickets on beds come May!!

Hey, thanks, BG. I'll have to give that a try on my next batch of bluegills or crappie.

Good find! and wow thats quick haha. Usually takes me forever to clean them, eventually the cleaning process led me to slow down a bit on bluegill fishing haha. Looks like i'm gonna have to get back into it now...

I vote for this to be stickied!!

that was awesome. We've gotten into some crappie out here round the lubbock area recently. Like Parker said, lot more grunting, less grace, drink of a beer while I'm doing it, but definately gonna have to try this method out.

I followed that method last thursday with the mess of crappie caught and it worked great! It took a little longer, bnut was much less mess and just as much meat if nt more.

Tha't pretty neat. Not any waste with that method. That would work great on small crappie (10in-12in). Wonder if the belly meat (flap) has a different taste? I'm gonna have to give that a shot.
