I hear tales of them being caught shallow. But man I can't seem to buy a shollow bite. I know its close to the tournament, so I'm not asking for mush info. Just wondering if anybody else is having as much trouble finding them as I am?

Well I guess either no one is catching any or its just to close to the tournament to even get a little info... I was out this past Saturday and found some 62 degree water and the shad were in the back of the cove at first light. I just knew I was going to find so crappie in there but just like the 72 viewers so far they just had lock jaw or were not there.

The ramp at Little Elm park (which is where the tournament weigh in is happening) is useable but the catwalk to the courtesy dock was about 3 inches under water. With the water up there is no place very close to the ramp to shore a boat. Just FYI

Well at least it wasn't just me..Starting to think I needed to switch to catfishing. I caught a blue that went about 5 or 6 lbs. That's all I could catch at the lavon tournament as well.

If you go North toward the 380 bridge there is a cove to your left after the small island they have cut down trees in the cove. They were in there before the rain. Also the cove straight across from the ramp had some in it also, in the very back.
If their done there I would go to Hickory creek try shallow and then try the standing timber.

I was on Lewisville Saturday fishing for green fish and saw this guy at the I35 bridge about 8:30am in a aluminum Lund type crappie boat throwing something out in the water around this one bridge column.

Now what would that be all about? Was he chumming? And for what?

Friend called me today and he crappie fished from the bank for about an 1 1/2 today from 3-430 and he caught 4 and missed as many fishing with minnows fishing 18 inches from the cork in about 4 ft of water. He was fishing from the bank so not sure what the temp was. Wind out of the south and where he was fishing it was not a wind blown bank wind would be blowing parallel with the bank. He is a rookie fisherman too so 4 fish for him in an hour and a half is a accomplishment. I will be out tomorrow trying a few spots if I can get to them.

Thanks for the reports.

LL Barge said they were catching them at their place (least a few keepers) in the shallower portions of the tank. That was yesterday and was on my way out this morning, but called and talked to Harold.

Said it was very windy, water still murky, and he didn't see many people catching any. Now I think about it, I should've tried the creek at EM by our slips. Dumb move on my part.

Went to LL this morning walked a rocky bank, throwing roadrunners, wind blowing like crazy! Caught two really nice big females and a few doinks. Fished 4 hrs then had to go to the all mighty J O B! frown Pretty slow to say the least!

I'm pretty much done with the barge at Lewisville. The last few times I went, which was several months ago, I didn't catch anything, and neither was anyone else there. I can sit on the bank and catch nothing and not have to pay $2.00 for each rod I fish with.
