Thought I read a few weeks ago that some TFF'ers were going to Rayburn over spring break. I was just wondering how they did.

I think they will start biting on Wednesday, April 2, 2008 in the AM. Just my prediction.

We tried briefly for crappie on our trip. They weren't shallow in the buck brush yet. Talked to one guide who said they were catching a few over the grass but not many there either. Caught some nice slabs in a tree top over 10ft of water in a creek channel but they were pretty slow. Sounds like best bite is still brush piles. Wish I had more to tell you.

I can tell you that last year we hammered them in the buck brush around this time of year. The water temps were where they should be but the fish just weren't shallow yet. Our tree top usually produces very well for us if they aren't shallow but it was very muddy in that area of the lake and I think that hurt us. We normally do very well when we do decide to crappie fish out there!

Caught a few in a creek channel on Monday. The report that I got was that the bite was better in the afternoon, but I only had the morning to fish. They will be in the shallows very soon, the fish we caught were about to pop with eggs.
