 Creaking noise when trimming

What's all the creaking noices when I trim up the motor? Is there something I need to lubricate?

mine made some noises @ a certain point while trimmin ( up i think ) right before it went from trim to tilt... greased everything i could find.. no more creaks

That's what I keep meaning to do but I forgett until I'm on the water again trimming it up.

On my merc you have to lube the ends of the pistons that lift the motor. On the end it looks like a steel ball and that sometimes gets dry. just trim it all the way up to get to em.

You should put a little grease on those balls every couple of months.

its sounds like you may need to lube the piviot tube and swivle bracket , be shure to use water proof grease

even if you dont have balls, you still need a little grease on the end of your shaft every now and then...  Mine was creaking, and I dont have the "balls" type shafts- smeared some wheel brg grease on em and now they dont creak

You all were right, I greased it up real good last night and all of a sudden .......................It stopped.
