Fished Indian from 12:00 until 4:30. Only boated two small fish. Both were caught on spinnerbaits, in the very back of a main lake pocket. The water color was actually pretty decent considering all of the recent rains. The warmest water that I found in Indian was 59 degrees. I also tried Pilot Point, the water was 52 degrees and looked like chocolate milk. Gonna try again this afternoon. Hopefully this warm weather will turn things on!

I was out on Good Friday - Fished from 10ish to 4:30. All in Sand Creek (didn't feel like running in the wind even though it died down while we were in the creek). We got nothing not even 1 bite. I didn't see anyone else catch anything either except one boat had a spot just of the back channel and boated maybe 4 in 30 minutes.

I don't know the lake very well and so it's not too easy to change locations. I knew Sand Creek would be tough because water temp was 54 to 55 and dingy.

I was out all day Friday and 2 to 7 on Saturday. Friday was pretty Good (no pun intended). I was in Wolf Creek the first half of the day then, Walnut, Lick, Johnson and Community Cove. I got one about 5 lbs in Wolf early in the morning on a lizard in a Cedar bush about 8 ft deep. It was on the edge of large spawning flat. Friday morning was miserable with the cold wind but the afternoon ended up to be very nice and warm. I caught several others in the afternoon on spinnerbaits up on weedy flats in 3 to 4 ft of water. Water temp got up to 60 by the afternoon.

Saturday however was a whole different story. I spent Saturday morning showing a WBT angler friend of mine some of my favorite places north of Little Elm bridge on Lake Lewisville. Fishing was non-existant. Chocolate water and still pretty cool. At 2, I trailered up and went to Ray Roberts. The day was nice but I could not get bit. I tried the same patterns and places as Friday but no deal. I had a father and his two young sons fishing near me in Community Cove and they had not caught a fish. I recommended they throw spinnerbaits on the flats. Within 5 minutes they landed a 5 lber. Good for them! The boys were really excited.

I won't be able to be on the lake for a few weeks due to overseas travel but if we have warm and dry weather, Ray Bob should be at it's peak when I get back. Don't you folks catch 'em all while I'm gone!

I was out on Saturday and Zero'd. Not fun very disappointing, but we did see several nests. The bass didn't stick around either.

How low was RR last year? I didn't graph any grass unless it was 8-10ft & then wasn't totally sure it was grass.

Slow down. Think the fish are there, just not interested in chasing down baits.

What a love-hate relationship I have with this beautiful lake. She's reminds me of that girl from back in high school who would lead you on with her good looks and of course those big, round, firm............ lunkers, but I digress. The funny part, was that you would continue to hang around even though you knew it's was a dead end road and that your chances were much greater else where. The problem was you couldn't leave. You just couldn't. No matter how hard you try. It was not up to you then and it's still not today. You continue to go back time after time after time after time, just hoping (will the wind be right?, what about the water temp?, has the hydrilla magically appeared from outer space and grown 15 ft over night?) that one day she'll change her mind after all this time and if not for more then a moment, reveal herself and allow you to hold one of her "lunkers" just long enough to take a picture.

As you can tell, my therapy bill is huge this time of year. Thanks for letting me vent and we'll see ya'll on the water. Do I need to tell you which lake I will be at?

I feel your pain. Sometimes it just feels good to air it out.

thats funny as hell, i understand completely. Its windy, then it gets cold but the wind dies down, then it will get warm again on sunday and windy too. Monday is when we will get 5 more inches of rain closing every lake within 200 miles.
Bring on May!!!!

P.S. Its always the worst on weekends when were not working.

Well said DuckBoogieman, that sums up how I feel about RayBob exactly. These days I get help from a pretty good wing man (guide). I fish with Dannie - get-bit. It's like when that beauty has a little to much to drink and evens the odds a little bit.
