I crashed my first bass boat in to a tree in my drive way. I owned it about an hour. Damage to fiberglass was about $1000.00 Damage to my ego PRICELESS. Please tell me I am not the only one who makes mistakes.

nope, your not the only one... me and buddy were duck hunting one day and he was sitting in the back of the boat swung around to shoot one out the back of the boat and shot the motor...

one shot-one kill.... you know how bad it sucks to paddle 3 miles back to the ramp...

The day I got my first bass boat(it was brand spanking new) I was putting it in the drive way. I chalked the tire with a old bottle jack I had. I unhooked it from the truck(then moved the truck out of the way) and noticed it was a little crooked in the driveway.. the bright idea I had that day was to straighten it up by hand and have my wife relocate the bottle jack... Well that didnt work out like it did in my head... The boat rolled over the bottle jack, down the drive way and into the mail box across the street. well it being just after lunch and no one being home to help me I was in trouble...thankfully a nice guy stopped (probably because my boat was blocking the entire street)to help. We got the boat away from the mailbox and curb so I could hook the truck back up to it..... I had owned the boat for about 2 months but had only had it in my possesion for about an hour (that another Fin and Feather horror story).

Replaced my steering system. Got it all changed out. Tested it out while in the driveway. Went to the lake and when I turned one way the boat went the other. Ended up running into a boat dock. Went home and redid the steering. This time I sat in the seat and noticed which way the engine turned with the wheel.

Got home from a day out on the lake unhooked the trailer but forgot to unhook the safety chains. About an hour later I jumped into my truck to go out for the evening, took off and felt a pull. Realizing that my boat was still attached, I slamed on my brakes and the boat just kept on going right through the middle of my license plate.

heard about a guy replacing the wood in his floor on his boat. couldnt figure out why the boat wouldnt back off the trailer. screws were too long and they went through the hull and into the trailer bunks. it floated the trailer when he backed in but it wouldnt back off.

This weekend i tripped over my dual console fell through the passenger side console plexy glass split it in half and f'd my self up. only minor knee injuries sustained.

i forgot to put my plug in the bottom of the boat.....hello knee deep in water!!!!

Night fishing on Fork is where all my bad close calls have happened.

Going by GPS and running the buoy trail I made when the lake was up... when the lake was low the buoys swayed pretty bad...nailed one going about 50mph, thought I had hit another boat it was so loud.

Buddy was using a spot light last summer running the buoys and I was halfway asleep about 3am. I suddenly start hearing things wizzing by us and get him to stop, he had somehow got on the buoys that run into Mustang in front of Wolf and was running through a stump field at 60mph+ at a weird angle. That could have been a nightmare.

Just the weekend my bass club was having it's first tourney of the year and of all things my hubby put the plug in the livewell hole. Needless to say we had a boat full of water. This was the first time he ever did that. There's been a couple of times he didn't even put it in.

How about dragging the anchor. Too easy to do.
