Hey guys and gals. In y'alls experience, what, other than break in time and what not should I pay attention too. What were any surprises y'all had after getting your boat back? Any and all replies will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, GOFISH

You should talk to the tech and see how much he has run the engine. We used to always run an rebuilt for an hour in the shop or pond before it was sent out.

My first rebuild blew 4 miles out on Caddo. The previous "re builder" left the advance idle screw loose. My motor blew two pistons, bent the shaft, and cracked the block. Whether the motor was at idle or topped out it was going to blow.
Just check it over, make sure there aren't ever obvious issues.

just make sure you understand the breakin procedure. you have to vary the rpms, with maximum rpms for a certain number of hours. each 2-3 hours you can bump up a little higher rpms. Lots of warm up time, and cool down time before you take off/stop.
they may have you double oil it as well. means oil in the gas, as well as the oil injected tank. gotta keep it superlubed until everything wears in place correctly.

i also replaced my spark plugs after breakin due to the double oiling. may not need to, but I just like clean plugs in the engine.

I just bought a new lowe stinger with 115 hp mercury, thats how they told me to break it in, vary the rpms, no wot for a while, and use double oil;
great advice whether new or rebuilt, probably the most critical thing we do to ensure long life;
