We have had people steal stuff out of our boathouse on whitney countless times! Or if they dont steal anything they just throw it in the water! I just dont get it! They will get whats coming to them at some point!

Fish hooks attached on the inside of your boxes with steal leaders.... This way your catch will be waiting for you in the morning. No need to rush through your morning coffee to kick his *&%. Take your time, enjoy the moment. After all, a fishing trip is all about having a good time.

Problem with that is you only get the fingers. Good for the cops to get prints off of but the perp gets to run away. Where's the fun in that?

Unload and put the stuff in your room. That is the only safe place. Don't leave anything out there you don't want to lose. I just can't sleep with my stuff in the boat. I have changed the say I carry my tackle as to make it easier to unload. or stay at the Cabin on Fork...next time! I guarantee your boats safety! Sorry for your loss! www.emoryguide.com/cabin.htm we aren't staying there anymore..........we were suppose to stay at lake fork marina but my buddy called the wrong place! ahahaa!

CrackHeads or CrackMonkeys stealing from boats in the Lake Fork area has been going on for years.
I can't believe people still leave valubles in their boats, after all the publicity it has recieved.
East Texas is a well known area for Meth Heads to cook Speed.

There have been just as many thefts at Lake Fork Marina in the past, but havent heard anything latley. A lockerbar doesnt make your stuff safe either, they use the winch on your trailer and pull it right off. I hate to say it but unless you are staying at a place with a security guard you are at risk. Its just a matter of which place the crooks plan on hitting that giving night, they seem to be pretty darn good at what they do.
After the first few reports of this a few years ago I started unloading all my rods, graphs, and most of my tackle each evening out there. It takes all of 15 minutes tops to unload and another 15 to reload the next morning, that 30 minutes can not only save your trip to Fork but save you a ton of misery trying to work over an insurance company or personally replacing your gear.

Ya, but it worked that night...I've heard that winch story for a long time, but never seen any documented proof, though I'm sure it could be done.....we DID have all our rods, gps's, and stuff inside the room....my son just forgot to get some stuff out of the back box.....

I bought a herpitologists handling device with the pinchers and handle. It is a pain to carry a snake box but if they pry open the rod locker and get a rattler bite the word will get out real quick. Don't forget to put your pet away in the morning.
