Now to my rant and rave.I was fishing at the cliffs, murrel park on grapevine lake.I hate boaters who do not obey the NO WAKE ZONES.I think they should be shot.I had one stupid ,Dum-*** Boater who speed over where my fishing lines where at at almost half speed in their boat.Which of coarse made a huge wake soaking my stuff.I yelled at him"this is a no-wake zone.please slow down".the SOB then replied "get a boat" and he then slowed down.

Hey boater if you can read this ,which I dought you can because you are so stupid and there was a huge no-wake sign posted.PLEASE SLOW DOWN .IT IS NOT SAFE FOR SWIMMERS,OTHER BOATERS,OR THE GENERAL PUBLIC TO GO THAT FAST.THERE IS A REASON FOR THE NO-WAKE SIGN THAT IS POSTED.I HOPE TO GOD YOU GET STOPED BY THE GAME WARDEN AND GET A TICKET.YOU ARE SO LUCKY YOU WERE IN THE BOAT AND NOT FACE TO FACE WITH ME.

OK ,END OF MY RANT

Bye firefly

ya people can be annoying, i wish some lakes were like some ski mountains that dont allow snow boarders, we should get a fishing only lake, no jet skis

RJS..... That is so funny.I almost threw a big rock at the guys head in the boat. But I didn't do it because I didn't feel like getting arrested.
But looking back.I wished I did.It would have been so funny to hit the guy or the boat.

How funny would it have been if you would have killed him or put his eye out?

I'm not condoning what he did. But sometimes the end doesn't justify the means.

A boater flew through the bridge pilings at Lake Fork awhile back. His mid speed wake caused an older gentleman to be knocked out of his boat and he hit his head on the column. It was hours before he resurfaced.

I am sure the boater that sped through the no wake zone and killed him is not proud of what he did and will suffer the sorrow for the rest of his life.

I agree that you're dude should have slowed down.

L...A....

It might have been a little funny if you just blacked his eye a little. Might have taught him a lesson that could someday save his life....

But he will probably suffer the sorrow of getting your gear wet for the rest of the evening. haha

if a tree falls in the forest, and there's no one there to here it. does it make a sound ? YES.

me, myself, & I , are seldom the only people around.

I think, therefore you might not drown.

That isn't how I took it.

My answer was meant to mean If I [anyone] doesn't think to slow down, then bad things can happen to people in boats under bridges when large wakes bounce their boats, or worse yet them, into the pilings.

We are both right. smile

If a boat is driven at excessive speed through a no-wake zone; and if someone takes a picture of said boat; and if the picture clearly shows the boat registration number; and if the picture is sent to the TWPD (or appropriate governing body) -- I wonder if anything would happen?

I tend to "bait" further than usual when that happens. They get a bit spooked and sometimes get the point. What I have worse is them cruising to close to shore with us fishing right there. In case any of you boaters don't know, we often cast 3oz weights 100+ yards. (not me but some guys, I'm lucky to get 50yds). If you are within our casting range and we don't notice you then you could get hit. Imagine the damage 3 or 4 oz of lead will do to a person or a boat. Have some consideration and think about your own safety. And at night if you see a lantern on shore, treat it light another boats running lights. We put it there to warn you away. If we're asleep and you foul your trolling motor on our lines, not only will it be a pain in the a** for you and us but you may be responsible for replacing any equipment lost due to your negligence. Anywhere from 4 to 6 rods per bank fisherman, 2 or 3 guys on the bank at $50 to $150 each rod... think about that.

I'm normally lauching range cubes but same concept. And I don't launch "at" them just in their direction. Hard not to get the point.
