Today on Lake Travis a serious boating accident has take place involving a pleasure boat and a jet ski. It was reported that a family visiting from Atlanta had rented the pleasure boat and jet ski, with the father and several other family members on the boat. Their 14 year old son was following behind on the jet ski and apparently didn't notice that the boat had slowed and ended up riding the jet ski up over the top of the boat. Several injuries were reported.

That is always a tragic situation. I was on Granbury Lake all weekend and you would not believe the number of Sea Doos. What makes me mad is the Game wardens should be out there giving citations to the kids under the proper age without the Boater Safety or PWC Safety course and give one to the parents also. I guarentee at least 3 of every 5 had kids under the age of 16 on them and no respect for anyone else on the lake.

I like how Calaveras handles that. First, I would not ski in that lake. But, to the point, the SA River Authority has specified areas of the lake that PWCs may go and parts they may not. I never see a PWC in my fishing spots except one day one approached me and it was a warden. He was checking my boat for the requirements.

I believe that PWCs may go the way of the 3 wheeler if the law doesn't crack down on the abuse.
