Anybody use a lawn mower to do this with a decent size boat? My boat weighs about 5000 lbs I think. My hydrostatic drive lawnmower will not pull it through the yard, will not spin the tires. I've been thinking of getting a gear driven garden tractor type to pull it with. A large 4x4 ATV may work also but they're more expensive and I think the garden tractor would be better suited for pulling. Has anybody tried it? Just how much can a lawn mower pull?

we have a Husquarvarna with a 25H Kohler that will pull our boat with no problem. but out boat is just a 15' modified V. i have an eletric golf cart that the motor is the stock 2 H eletric. the only thing i did to it was put a 4" lift kit and 22" tires on it. it will pull our boat with no problem. and also pull a T post out of the ground. so you may want to try to find a golf cart.

Here's a picture of the boat. 25' hull. 37.5' total on tandem axle aluminum trailer.

I just remembered something this weekend. I have a CJ8 on 40s, that should do it without tearing up the yard.
