Are these reels any good? Tired of paying high dollar money for Shimano's and the newer pflugers look kind of like shimano a long time ago.

I have some and like them. You'll find opinions on here mixed with the biggest complaint being they are hard to get parts for if you need any work done. I've fished them over 6 years and have no complaints. Not sure how much you want to spend, but you can check out the Bass Pro Extreme reels. They are made by the same factory as the Pfluegers. I think they are on sale for $59 right now. If they're not, they will be again soon.

I was at Academy this weekend and they have reel and rod combos with the pfluger reel being a nine ball bearing compliment for 85 or 90 dollars.

I bought an Echelon it is smooth and a nice reel. I think they are worth the money.

I bought an Ocean Master OM2000 and tried it out yesterday. One really smooth round baitcaster for sure! Spooled 12 lb. clear Ande on it and copled with a 7' rod, I was easily throwing a 1-oz. sassy shad a mile. High speed retrieve.

I was also looking at the Browning and the Pflueger and settled for the higher line capacity

I hope I do no not regret this move, but I went to Academy yesterday and purchased 2 of the H20 reels ("Method") for $75.00 each. They have 10 bearings and feel solid and they remind me of my shimano reels only cheaper in price.

Thunder---Check back in a couple of months and let us know how they are doing. Sounds like a good deal if they hold up over the long haul.

Took them out for 4 days straight and one problem I found was that out of the box the handles are not tight. Not that big of deal other than it takes a special wrench in the box that I left 6 hours away. The other thing that I was not crazy about was that the reels came with free line spooled at Academy but it had to be H2O brand line and I did get them spooled up with the free line - Big mistake, the H2O line Sucks! it kept getting kinks and twist that would not work out. Going to re- spool them and tighten the handles and go back out. I will keep yall informed.
