Down when taking off to get on plane then trim up till desired height, without boat porpoising is a start. Then their are lots of variables. Some outboards set better trimming down while coming off plane, some turn better trimmed down a little, some you can overheat the outboard trimming to high, most boats you can see over the bow better while idleing with motor trimmed down and I really do`nt get the what?

For bass boats Trim all the way down to take off After break over and the boat is running flat trim up If you have a fast boat, trim slow to help learning to control chine walk easier When the wheel go from no torque to the right to a little bit you are at the best trim level for highest speed and best usage of prop. (rooster tail at this point should be lust lower than the top of the motor cowling) When coming off pad, slow down slowly and trim down. All boats are a little different, really fast boats, and champion, charger, type boats cen be tricky. They are either runnning very little running surface, or have tendency to bow hook if taken for granted. I hope this helps, if you have any other questions let me know.
