Bought one of these KVD Quantum Signatures a couple weeks ago and had problems with it this weekend. I sometimes had to manually lift the trigger before I can reel in and worst of all the drag seems to be messed up. When reeling in it gets tight then loosens almost as if something is warped or out of round......... I'm taking it back and getting sdomething different.

I was going to get another Revo but opted to spend less and give the Quantum a try. I have an Accurist and love it but this one isn't worth a damn or I got a lemon.

I've had the same problem with my Quantum and I finally just replaced it. Shimano is the only way to go.

I have had a couple of the Quantum Tours for 13 yrs and not one problem. Guess they don't make them like they used too.

It's got an awfully long name. Maybe we could give it an acronym like QKVDSSB?

I have the code which the exact same reel without the flippin switch. NOT ONE problem. But my son did have a STEEZ and that had the same problem with the button. So it isn't always the brand that is the problem. I had the infamous Shimano mess up on me too. Huck try another and think you might like it. I relly like my CODE.

One thing I noticed about the CODE (I have purchased 2 recently). Quantum has packed the bearings in grease rather than oiling them. This creates drag on the bearing and you loose some casting distance. I simple dipping of the bearings in lighter fluid for about 30 minutes followed by letting them dry and a 1/2 drop of rocket fuel (yellow), and those reels can really cast.
Character is who you are when nobody else is around.

Stick with Simano. Even their low end stuff is decent.

I bought two and I had the exact same problem. they exchanged them for another two and I had the same problem with one, Finally I got tired and exhanged them and bought the Daiwa Team Pro. These reels are garbage!
When the good Lord takes me...I hope the Good Lord has a body of water to fish just as good as we have in TX!!
