Well, 0 for 5 as of today but didnt put a serious effort into it. Had my two girls with me and the wind/waves were awful. It was enough just to make the cove near deadmans without taking waves over the bow. Gave up not to long afterwards. Decided to check a local pond in Flower Mound that I heard in the bass forum a while back. Picked up 4 lmb on a chatter bait in 30 mins. Best action I've had in 2 months.... (dont tell the wife...) I'm not worried about LL, it will turn on, just have to wait. I've stopped complaining, just reporting.

I fished from about 1:00 - 6:00 Sat. As you said Mark, not a lot of effort put in. Very windy and the lake was rough, especially when we first put in. I had my 2 young boys, my wife and dad with me at first, so we put in at the LE ramp, and went strait across to the cove to get some protection. We just dropped anchor and enjoyed the sun, but I had my dad and boys all rigged with minnows. At one point my son's pole doubled over, but as quick as the fish hit, it let go and was gone. A couple hours later, I dropped off my dad and wife, and a couple friends jumped on with me and the boys. We fished for several more hours without a bite.
Going to RR Thursday with the wife and kids.

Bob, don't feel bad - for all the times my girlfriend & I have hit Lewisville in the last couple months, our best day has been only 4 sandbass. I'm finding huge schools of them, and some are biting ... but VERY softly.
Looking through my posts of last year, I can tell that I wasn't catching fish until almost the end of March (and learning alot through you, DTA, BigDad, Papapeck, et al), so don't give up hope yet!

Yesterday (Sunday) we went up in the creeks. Caught a few sandies and a few undersized LBM. It wont be long before they are running the creeks.
I feel more like I do now than I did when I first got here!

We spent the wknd out at Hidden Cove. We fished for a good long while Sat, not very much action. We did catch some hybrids shallow (about 4 feet of water) They were under 3 lbs, but looked very healthy. We actually caught more LMB's than sandies or hybrids. Talked to some guys on the ramp, they said they were catching quite a few cats, but that was about it. Water temp was still at 55. It's gonna turn on soon! Man that wind was something else Sun morning, we were freezing our tails off and hung it up early.

Agree Bob, Lewisville is a strange lake, maybe we need the mojo of John Varner to come and cast a spell. I am convinced that 90% of Lewisville fish went over the spillway last year, because they are not in the lake at the moment or they are hiding very well. Well known spots are showing no fish, I was at the Gravel pits on Saturday and nothing, went approx 1/4 mile west and there was plenty of fish, but no takers. I had two or three hits, but I think it was fishing just swimming by the baits.
Tried many different combinations but found none the fish like, well after the storms have gone by this week, the lake should be really dirty again from run-off and another lousy weekend ahead.
Good luck and if you find them post the nav co-ordinates. It would be a good idea for anyone fishing Lewisville to post co-ordinates if they find fish, would save a lot of gas this year, I have no problem with this, what you all think, at $3.50 a gallon are the fish worth chasing around an empty lake.

New, try around Deadmans point in the creek channels about 40' deep - they're in those channels, but not biting actively.
