Load of bamboo, not hard to find but a bit of work involved.

Forgot my hat, big mistake.

Having a good looking helper is a plus.

I use three blocks to be sure it sinks and stays in place.

I use 16 stalks of bamboo per mat. Insert two thru from one way and two from the opposite direction in the same hole. Be sure to stick it thru until some of the small branches are thru the block so it won't back out. I only put bamboo in the two top blocks.

A perfect wife. How lucky am I?

Once it's assemblied just dump it over the side.

If you see something that looks like this just go away, nothing but carp here.

Pat, Rick and I have built over 40 of these since Feb. If you're not doing the same then you are not really serious about wanting to catch a lot of Crappie. I will be happy to share the locations of the bamboo (uncut) with you. You get to do the work.

Podnuh runs an irrigation company and brought me 300ft of pvc last week. Me and speckjerker got it put together, prolly get it out later this week one eve if the winds not howling!

Would love to find some bamboo around Fork I could cut. Otherwise I'll just wait a couple more months for the willows to green out...

Tookey, I bet there's bamboo around Fork. Call your county agent. People call them all the time wanting to know how to kill it.

sure beats pine needles all over the boat frown .

How long do you think the bamboo will last underwater. i know the christmas trees have about 2 year. The boo looks like it would last a few more years.

I bet someone is loving you Ernest. You are right, people are calling my feed store all the time wanting to know how to kill bamboo. The answer is continually cutting it down.
One of the threads I read recently suggested putting a few cans or can lids tied to the bamboo to show up better on the sonar screen, especially later after the leaves fall off.

I found a bunch of it down here on some property that is for sale. I called the agent and asked him to contact the owner for permission to go cut some for this purpose. The owner didn't want to do anything about it. frown I hope the new owner will let me get on there cause I'll have a lifetime supply if I can get there before another 20 years go by!
