If so do you find any disadvantages from useing spinning tackle. What rod reel line do you use? I hate spinning gear by the way.

I use a Abu Garcia Revo paired to a medium-light finesse rod from BPS. Works like a charm..

I use a G-Loomis BCR803GLX rod with a Chronarch 51MG reel spooled with 10# Trilene Fluorocarbon in clear water or 20# Fireline in stained water. So far, no problems with the equipment, sensitive and plenty of power on the hook set. Ive been using this set-up for three years with lots of success.

I use an AllPro 6-6 light action and an Ardent reel works real good.

I do if I am using 1/4 ounce jigheads or heavier. I use a mag7 MH Castaway rod. It is limber enough(moderate fast action) to fight them without tearing the hook, but allows for a solid hookset. I use a David Fritts or a Pinnacle Super 7 reel. I use 20lb. braid or 14lb. flourocarbon depending on water clarity.

I know quite a few people that do. Not sure exactly what equip. they use though. I use spinning gear. Thats what I used when I taught myself and find it hard to change to baitcaster to fish it. I would think that as long as you use a good line that won't interfere with the sensativity you should be fine. You could probably get away with 20 pound braid or 10-12 pound fluorocarbon.
It is my go to rig when I need to catch them quick. I caught 3 on Monti. last month in 20 minutes. Our club does paper tourneys.
Best of luck.

Sure, why NOT? Use 12lb Floro. and a med.- med/hvy rod. No Problemo. Works as good as a "Fairy Wand".

15 Lb Fluoro, bait caster and 3/8 oz football shaky head. Of course Zoom Green Pumpkin Finesse with chart tail dip.
Never saw a bass come up and check the rig before biting.

20# Floro, 1/4 to 1/2 oz., Shimano Chronarch reels, Lamiglass rod and throw it right in the heaviest stuff I can find. Get ya some of that with a spincast.

Abu Garcia Revo with 12 lbs fluoro on a Falcon Lowrider LFC3. Works like a charm. You can pull double duty and throw a weightless wacky rid with it as well.
