I do most of my posting in here, so some aren't kitties, but nonethe less here they are. Saturday-Canyon Lake B-Day party for Brian Coldwater & friends. Front had the whites with some lock jaw but ended the day with 15 and the boys catching their first ever white bass. Fished from 1- 530pm trolling most of the day. Had a blast! Sunday- Tony, Dennis and their wives and me got a little more adventure than we bargained for at Cally. Fished for about 2 hrs before I called it becasue of winds. Gusts were intolerable. We all got soaked headed in and laughed our way to the ramp...ended the moring with 11 or 12 fish and rescheduled for another day. Notice Tony and Dennis soaking... More fishin' next time and less adventure...lol Monday- Calaveras- Rain & more rain Fished with fellow TFF'er JeffnSA and his wonderful family. Jeff and Angie said a little rain was fine...lol. So out we went. Fished the only place we could with the down pour..the bridge, fishing from 800-1130 ending the morning with 39 fish caught on punchbait. Had a blast fishing with Faith (daughter) and she is one heck of a fisherlady...never seen a girl with her determination Tuesday- Chuck Dewey fished we me and fishing was slow.....fished our tails off for better part of 6 hrs putting togther a limit of 25 fish caugt on punchbait fishing shallow. Worked hard and deinfetly appreciate the easy days...Appreciate it Chuck , as always! Wednesday- Fished with repeat guest John Levi and had a good time fishing shallow , then deep with TEAM CATFISH double action circle hooks and shad. These hooks are the real deal. Ended the day with 25 fish caught on shad and punchbait fishing shallow and deep. John landed a 7.5 lb blue on Team Catfish Cirlce hooks (5/0) baited with shad fishing 14ft. SHad are everywhere and easy to come by right now, cats are scattered throughout lake but once you find them , stay on them. Couple days of a solid SSE wind shoul dput things back to normal. Cliff

if we had not hit the bridge as a second stop the weather would have been too bad to fish. as soon as we tied up to the bridge it started coming down, we left when it eased up enough to make a run for it. the weather made it go from just fishing to a FISHING TRIP. why is it when the more miserable the conditions are the more fun it seems to be?

Great job Cliff! Despite the tough conditions, you still put your customers on fish and keep them coming back for more.

That's why it's an ADVENTURE, Jeff! Lol! Glad you and the family had some fun with Cliff. Hopefully, this is a lot more fun and easier than your normal trips to the coast. *Food for thought: I was showing my coworkers photo's of my trips with Cliff, as well as my quarry (wouldn't you brag with your limit of quality fish?!?!?). One thing we had talked about was the value of the trip. We don't know the actual prices, but how much would 2 fillets cost at let's say the HEB fish market? Can anyone throw out a price? I know it's priced by the pound, but let's say you catch your limit with Cliff in the "Johhny Skilletino" sized range. That's two fillet's per fish at a 25 fish limit. 50 fillets. Not only do you get to go out and have a good time while Cliff does all the "ghost work" labor, so that his clients can focus on the catch, but the client takes home a huge amount of valuable table fair. Calculate it up one day....then compare that to the more than reasonable prices that Cliff offers. His clients make out like bandits with table fixin's and have a HECK of a time doing it. Just something to think about when you reflect on your trip. I can tell you that my trips with Cliff, especially given the quality of fish I had pulled out on the Braunig trips, had left me with FAT fillets. If you priced the value of the cost of a store bought fillet, pound for pound, that alone would have equated to, if not exceeded, the price of my trip with Cliff. Try hosting a fish fry and going to your local fish market to buy the fish yourself. Just something that we were kicking around at work. To be honest with you guys, I would pay for a trip to go out with Cliff without expecting to catch. That was my first trip with Cliff. I SERIOUSLY did not care if we caught. I paid for that trip to pick his brain on how to attack a lake. I ended up limiting out at Cally that night. What a bonus! Knowledge, food, AND having Cliff letting me be the dork that I am to talk smack to the fish while I was catching? I was robbing the poor guy! Spring and summer are coming up. I've got a great schedule to give me time off during the week. If Cliff's schedule allows it, you can bet I will be booking a lot of night trips with him. One truly satisfied customer: Steven

GUys, thanks for the kind words, I'm blushing...lol Seriously, it's fishing and it's all in good fun. Canyon Lake Tom Dewey fished the afternoon with me and we caught fish right off the bat trolling, had one triple hook up and a double , then the switch was flipped and the fish turned off. Went way up river only to be able to see schooling whites and catch two out of the many seen. That's fishing, it oughta be good and heavy fishing soon, along with good and heavy boat traffic, if you head out be careful. Always fun fishing with Tommy and seeing some Axis Deer put some icing on the cake. Ended the day with 15 kept and 20 or so caught. Friday Calaveras Henry and son Trey fished this morning with me for just a bit...LOL. One stop shop today. HAd 39 in the boat by 1000am and that was all they wanted...called it quits early so Trey could go to a Bday party and take his fresh fish with him...lol A good SSW wind made for some good fishing this morning. All fish caught on punchbait fishing shallow.

Saturday Calaveras Fishing has drastically gotten better this week. Fished with Jaimie Nielson and Family of Georgetown,TX. Had a blast fished from 8-1130am, ending the morning with 68 fish in the box. Really had a good time and my new "deck hand" was a hoot. Always fun gettin' the youngsters involved or on fish. All fish on punchbait fishing 4-5 ft. Son, Phillip, new "deck hand" Part Two Saturday- Capt.Frank Houser & Donna Rockport,tx Frank & Donna fished this evening with me. Donna did most of the catching while Capt.Frank & I did the jaw jacking. Ended the afternoon with 33 channels and 5 blues fishing punchbait and shad. Great day on the water, good times, good people and good fishing.
