I have looked on the internet to try and determine what the proper name is for this aquatic vegetation. I was told that it is called Spiny Naiad. I have yet to locate such an item on the internet, so if some one can help me out on this, I sure would appreciate it.

Thanks.

By the way, here is what I found. It's a Macrophytic algae (Charophytes).
Here is a picture they took.

I don't think that is it fishy. The stems on those plants don't have thorns from what I can see. The ones in your pic do.

Whatever that is, I wouldn't wanna step on it wade fishing! Looks like a close match there, but I think Wiggles is right. Maybe it's a sub-species?

Mr Wiggles I think you're right. I didn't look at it that close till just now. That picture looks like the plant is above the water, because I can see what looks like a small cloud in the back ground right at the very top of the plant.

Thanks evolution44, thats it.

That is the only aquatic vegetation in Fayette Lake that I can find right now. All the anglers I have talk to this year, have asked me, if LCRA used sonar to get rid of the hydrilla. If they did spray the lake, is it mandatory for them to keep a log of this? And if so, who can I call to get that information from?
