Any news from Gibbons?? Have not been in a while and was wondering if they were starting to get shallow?

They are a week or two from being shallow. We were catching them in 8 foot water on Saturday using shad.

Hey Obiewan57, it was nice meeting you and talking to ya today at Gibbons. I'll probably run across you again out there or at Somerville. BTW, nice cooler of channels you had today.

2fish, nice running into a fellow TFF'r...Nice boat you got there too. I like the way it sets up in water. I will look for you on the water. We ended up with half blues half channels. Caught them today anchored in 3 foot water and casting into 6-8 foot water.

My son and I went back today and after a very slow start and moving 3 places, we finally got into them. We tied up in 4 foot and cast shallower. Most were keepers or better...I think we only threw back four. We came home with 24 today.

Great to see your reports again Weldon.
I need to give the channels a try again at Gibbons. Gibbons is so close for us.
I have a Brazos river addiction right now though. We did ok last weekend and we are planning to hit it again this Friday. I have some buddies going to the 21 bridge this weekend but I imagine we will either fish 105 or maybe even try to put in at the Yegua on 50 and go down to the river. If the forecast holds true the fishing may pick up alot this weekend but I think we're still about 2-3 weeks out from those "fill up the boat" trips. We have a big fry to put on in late April so once my personal stash builds back up we'll stock up for the fry. Got 200 to feed!

Where was your old brazos lease at again? I am looking into new spots all the time to try.

See Ya

went out yesterday for a couple of hours. Ended up with 8 blues in the box. Caught 4 nice bass on live shad and perch. Have not done that in a while. We looked hard for bait. Cast netting for shad. Ended up finding some in about 11 foot of water....but took a long time to find. It will pick up as the water warms. Had a big fish on for about 5 min. that broke off. Just guessing it to be arround 20lbs. Good to be back on the water.

I grew up in Tyler. Went to college in Waco, moved to San Angelo for 2 years and ended up in College Station for the last 10 years. I work in dialysis and I have met lots of ems guys transporting patients at the clinics I work in. I haved worked all over the state, including Weatherford. It's been a while though. The company name is Davita....used to be Gambro but the good old days are gone.
If you worked around Huntsville or CS then you may have seen my pics I have had in my offices.

Scotter,

That lease I was on was about 2 miles below where Little Brazos hits big Brazos, if you ever are interested, give me a holler and I will get that guys name again for you, at the time it was $200 for year, he kept it dozed so you could drive down next to the river to unload, one guy would back his trailer off into the water to unload.

Any one have an updated report for Gibbons? Was thinking of going this afternoon.

Obiewan, I've always wanted to fish the Brazos but haven't much because of the access. Is this place your talking about still available? Any info would be great.
