I will be taking my wife, & kids to Azle this weekend, to visit some of here family. I was wondering if there is any place where I could do some good bank fishing there. Her kin folks say there is good places to fish. But none of them will tell or show me where to go. Thanks for any info.

I have seen a few places...but it's been a few month since I went. You can fish over where the swimming area is. There is good access there. There is an area at Shady Grove Park...not sure how accessible it is. 32.90833,-97.529932 On google Maps.

On the east side of the dam there are two bars, the Spillway and Gus's, in between them is a pier to fish off of for $3. Fish for catfish and crappie.

The east side at Indian Creek a bridge crosses over the slough there and there is a place for $3 per person. 100 yards north of that is Creek Harbor Fish camp also $3. Creek harbor is closed at the moment, but my wife and I just bought it and are working hard to get it open soon. Come by and see us if you can. Good luck.

It is on the East side on FM 1220 (Morris Dido Rd). It is north of the power plant and south of the big Kenneth Copeland Ministries property. The closest cross street would be 1220 and Peden Rd which is a mile or two to the south of it.

Bill,

I have seen guys catching them on both minnow and jigs. So far chartruse (spelling?) jigs have done the best, and then minnows. When we get creek harbor set up it is going to really be geared to the family. No alcahol will be allowed on the property. We really want to encourage people to bring there kids out and not have to worry about what they will see or hear. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Josh
