i'm heading to my brothers for easter weekend. i live in fort worth and the crappie have not started spawning yet. planning on fishing Lake Conroe and was wondering if there were any particular areas of the lake that are best for catching spawning crappie from the bank. hopefully they will be spawning by then thanks

OSD: Please note: I haven't been on Conroe since 1995, but there used to be fairly sandy banks directly to the East and West of the public ramp on the south side of Caney Creek. I have no idea what it's like now, but if the ramp is still there and open, it might be a place to check. Surely there are others more up-to-date with info....

I wouldn't get to wound up about bank fishing on Conroe.
The Lake stubblefield area and Thompson's ponds are about the only places I would think of fishing for crappie and that's only during the spawn.
Good luck.
