Has anyone fished at Amon G. Carter? I got to drive by it today on the F.M. 1125 side and it looks great! I could not find it on the TPWD site in the reports section. Main interest are Bass, Crappie and Bluegill. Thanks for any help.

Our club was there this past weekend. Bass on the main points to 1/2 way back in coves. Shakey head, craw, jigs...6-8ft of water. Water was 48-50 degrees w/ nice color.

Hope that helps!

Just wanted to let everyone know that the TPWD Inland Fisheries office out of Texoma is conducting a largemouth bass exploitation study on Amon G. Carter. They tagged 782 fish 12 inches and longer. Half of the fish were below 14 inches so that those fish can grow above the legal size of 14 inches over the year. They are conducting angler interviews at the lake on random days trying to gather information about the tagged fish. So when you are out there catching bass take some time to help the TPWD and look for these tags. The tags are pink to red and located on the fishes left side below the dorsal fin. The left side of the fish would be the side on the anglers right when looking eye to eye with the fish. The fish were tagged with two tags, but some might just have one tag due to tag loss. THE TAGS SHOULD NOT BE REMOVED. Some algae may be on the tags, just brush the algae off and record the tag number than report the tag number to the phone number on the tag (903-786-2389) or to the person conducting the angler interviews. This is a very improtant study and a great way to get out and help the TPWD make fishing better.
