When I fished Rayburn shallow last weekend, I only got small green buck-bass up to 14 inches. Went back to brushpiles and got 4 @ 15in. crappie with 12 others between 12 and 14 inches. Must have thrown back a dozen or more less than 12 in. Keeping those dinks would have made my count sound much better but I don't like cleaning them. Overall, not a bad weekend and the weather was beautiful....yet cold. Spring is so close down here. The redbuds are out and the dogwoods are starting to bloom. And I am off from the 15th thru the 23rd.

Another couple of weeks and it should be good at Rayburn.
I am going March 27 thru April 6. Hope it is not to late.

Was at Rayburn March 1 to run the boat and sink some condos, and caught 7 nice ones in about 2 foot of water.

I hope they wait a little longer.

Will be there the 20th-23rd and hope to catch it right. Caught it last year and had a blast pulling slabs out of the buck brush!

Do jigs work well catching crappie out of the buck brush at Rayburn or are minnows required?

I am going to find out this year in a week! I am thinking jigs will work just as well as they do out here at Lake Granbury but all we had last year was minnows and they worked well. If I can get them to hit the jig thats what I will be using as its so much easier not having to head to the minnow bucket all the time!
