We were night fishing under the bridge on Ray Roberts. A drunk was tied to the next pier and woke up-reeled up-and had a nice crappie. He had an expensive camera and wanted us to take a picture of him and the slab. He didn't wait for us to motor over and get the camera---he just threw it---20ft. past our boat.

You guys made me think of two quick ones.

In the late 70's, some drunks backed a T-top Firebird right down the ramp into Lake Austin. We tied chains on a pickup and I started wading out carrying 30 or 40' of chain. Walked under water to the car(about 6 or 8' deep), hooked up the chain, climbed in under the steering wheel and got to DRIVE the car right out of the lake James Bond style. As the pickup pulled me out of the lake, I rolled down the window to let water out for a little visual effect. It was great!

Second, I am running down the lake about 30 mph when my rods begin to shake like they were possessed. Suddenly, my best bass pole FLYS out of the boat. I mean launched! I assume that the lure fell overboard and all the line ran out, so I hurry back and use my anchor as a grappling hook. I pull in my pole by the line and it had a 3# carp on it. The Texas rigged bullet sinker buried the hook in the back of that carp. When it stretched the mono as far as it could, it Launched that pole like a cannon. What are the odds?

Right after I bought my boat last year I went to Braunig in San Antonio to try and find some catfish. While I was out a water snake used my anchor rope to climb into the boat. I must have looked really silly with a paddle in one hand and a q-beam in the other, beating the snot out of the front of my boat. Then when I got back to the ramp, I just looped the dock line over a cleat and went to get the truck. After getting backed in I saw my boat about half way to the other side of the inlet. I had no choice but to get in the water, but I still don't remember swimming. All I remember is trying to run on the water so that no snakes could get me. I HATE SNAKES TOO!!!!!!!

Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes. That way you are a mile away, AND you have their shoes.

It would come and go about every couple minutes. finally I ask my friend if he heard it, and he said yes, but didn't want to ask me cause he thought he was hearing things. The sound strated getting louder and then the ocean behind my boat and out about 100 yards started to softly glow. As the sound got louder, the glow got brighter. About this time, I definately needed a change of pants. Just when it looked like the glow was going to break the surface, and the sound was so loud that it hurt our ears...everything stopped and went back to dark and quiet. We decided that we had enough fishing for one night and headed in. We never did find out what it was...and I'm not really sure that I ever wanted to anyway.

I was about 15 years old and my Dad took me fishing with him to Lake Tawakoni for the entire weekend. Boy, was I excited.
Now, if my Dad could have survived fishing 24 hours a day, he would have.
Well, late one night as we headed back to the ramp, he told me to sit in front of the aluminum john boat we were in and hold on to the old Coleman lantern and stay between him and the light so he would not be blinded. I was also told to point at any submerged stumps I saw so he could avoid running up on them or into them.
Everything was going as planned, and up ahead I saw a pole, about 6" in diameter sticking up and you guessed it, we were headed right for it.
Well, as instructed, I pointed, and pointed and pointed. I braced myself, and we hit it dead on.
When I turned around and ask why he didn't see my signal, he replied..."Hell, I was looking out into that cove we passed for another fishing hole tomorrow!"

All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.

I got a couple of 'em.....

I owned a 98 Sprint Fish N Ski and it had a "rod locker" that was right behind the rear bench seat. My brother had came down for some night fishing on Fork. We put in around 5 pm and just around dusk when you could barely see the bottom of the boat I decided to get the light pole out of the locker. We had been skiing the weekend before, so when I opened the locker and saw something dark laying inside, I thought maybe one of the ladies had put a shirt or something in there. I reached down to grab it and about the time I touched it, it moved.......I screamed like a 3 y/o girl and was literally standing on top of the 200 Venom. My brother almost dove off the front cause my scream scared him so bad. It was cat....Never did find his sorry a##.....lol

Same boat, on Lavon. I had put in at East Fork and run up to Tikki Creek and met some friends. Hanging out, skiing, tubing, etc. Storm blew up, just hung out by the ramp at Tikki Creek till I thought it was blown through. Started down the lake with a light rain and about the time I got by the Baptist encampment, lightning struck twice in 2 seconds about 150 yards away. I stiffarmed the throttle across the lake and didn't shut it down till I was inside the bouy's at the ramp. I apologized to the guy putting his boat on the trailer at the time. He laughed and said that he'd seen the lightning hit close to me and would have done the same thing.
