When I was real young, my dad caught a shotgun. It had been in the water a real long time. He took it to the police station. It was next to a bridge, we have always wondered about it.

It wasn't me, but I had a buddy that was throwing a buzzbait at night and hooked a Coyote. He didn't get that buzzbait back.

I used to run trotlines in Louisiana every single night on a little bayou behind our house (waterfront property isn't hard to come by in Lousiana). One night I walk outside to check it and my line is pulled WAY out to the side. I'm thinking I have a 30+ pound catfish on the line. I pull myself out on our 14ft johnboat and low and behold there is this 10lb prehistoric creature on the line called a bowfin ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bowfin ). I was about 14 at the time and this thing really freaked me out. I still have never caught another one to this day. I don't remember what I caught him on, but my guess is probably cut shad as that is what I used 90% of the time. I swear if you ever caught one of these things it is going to be the fight of your life. This thing was PULLING like a redfish on steroids. I have caught several of those Bowfins on Lake Tyler. They are very powerful. I thought I had a 15+ pound bass or a Catfish. Ugly suckers too!

caught a crain on the #9 fariway pond at the pittsburg golf couse when i was a kid. He would fly up anout 10 or 12 feet and i would drag him back down. he grabed a half oz santone jig in about a half food of water. All the guys playing golf were rolling. I got that jig back

Caught a puffer fish in a pond. Also a goose on lewisville he picked up my worm and i could'nt get him loose.Finally bit my line and that honkin sum bitch had everybody lookin.

When I was a kid fishing a stock tank around San Saba I caught a Bull frog on a black Mr. Twister grub. It was big enought to eat so it went home with the fish.

Hey Swampdonkey, would you describe that cellphone, my tournament partner lost two cellphones in the last two seasons!
We are are looking for an old cellphone he can take and throw in the lake at the start of each season to just go ahead and get it overwith. LOL

Was hybrid fishing at the gravel pits on ray hubbard in 25' of water. felt a tap on the slab, set the hook and I hooked an old pull tab Old Milwaukee beer can. Next cast felt a tap, tap, set the hook and up came a large Mussel....strange day.

Many bowfin. They love the Culprit tomato worm. 4' aligator on a C'rigged craw. A perfectly round baseball size rock. It was funny how a rock bouncing along a hard bottom feels like a fish so fought the rock all the way into the boat. Caught a 9 lb bass the next day in the same place as the rock. Several rod and reels but only ones I dropped or threw in.
