what 2 cycle oil should i use for my motor
also what oil should i use or my lower unit

Any TWC-3 oil is fine. I use 80w90 gear oil in my lower unit. I've got an 81 115 evinrude. Never any issues.

I have a 1977 Rude 55hp. The manual says any TWC-3 is fine. I bought a copy of the original manual online for $35.

This is up for debate, I know...

But I am running a 1980 model V4 Evinrude and it runs like a new one. One of the reasons is that I use ONLY one oil...and that's Evinrude/Johnson 2 cycle oil. I have NEVER put any other oil in my tank. I especially wouldnt MIX two oils in the same tank.

I usually run OMC lower unit oil too. But the past 2 years, I have used Lubrimatic and although it doesnt seem as smooth shiftin, it seems OK. In all fairness I do change my lower unit oil at least twice a year.

My theory is...if it aint broke, dont fix it.

got a '74 85HP here. I use ANY tcw-3 oil and have never had a problem.
