The Pfleuger President is durable and affordable. I compared it's performance with higher priced reels and found it to be as smooth for most casting situations.

What kind of fish are you going to be fishing for. If it is anything other than catfish, I can't help. But if you are catfishing, go to the new Salt striker from Cabala's. It has a line out feature that lets line out if you get a hard hit and has a switch you flip that sets it to your drag setting to set the hook. This is a very new feature to spinning reels and they cost about 60 bucks. Only draw back is the severl weeks backlog of orders they have. This reel is selling very good because of this new feature. I bought 2 and will be buying 2 more.

Yeah, baitrunners are great features on spinning reels. They work very well for catfishing, carp fishing, or any other sort of bait fishing.

I'd also suggest checking out the Okuma Avengers, the Okuma Epixors, and the Shimano Baitrunners, all available at Cabelas as well.

I believe the Salt Strikers may actually be manufactured by Okuma as well, so they are definitely solid reels.
