trying to get some fishing in before the front comes in.... arrival at TCD 10:30am
- water calm both sides (wind forecast 12-15 mph east winds)
- water lowest I've ever seen at TCD
- armed with crabs, deadshrimp, live shrimp & artficials.
- hoping for reds & drum
- turned out to be flounder day (4x 18"-20") on live shrimp

winds came in 12ish so we moved to mosquito island..
- hit on (1x-18") flounder on live shrimp
- after that i personally caught: 1x coke can, 1x boot, 1x ball of fishing line & nearly lose 2 of my favorite lures.... pissed as hell! moved on.

arrived at the mouth of Moses Lake 1:30pm
- bait fish jumping, looked promising for reds in the mud pockets
- worked the marshes with everything we got.
ended up with alot of weed & mud covering our baits.
about to pack it in with all the bad juju happening, then...

*** corner of my eye seeing a boat trying to get close to usm inching their way in. tide low + bad approach = Whomp! Stuck in the mud! felt sorry for the guys. they increased throttle & made it worse. Made so much commotion, I forgot what the hell I was doing. I'm sure they were cursing up a storm. The bad juju was spreading, decided we had enough & packed it up. 3:30pm Buddies went on to Kemah, & I sat in I-45 traffic for a couple hours.
(Man, I love our highway system!)

- doing bad for the winter so far. come on March get here quicker!

Hey Chips, were you in a boat on the right side (looking back towards mainland)? Between shoreline, misqito island and around that low lying pier goig towards moses lake flood gate? I've always fished of the pier on end of Dike, but now I've got a kayak and have wanted to fish for flounder over that direction.

nope sorry wasnt me... yeah you should do good on a kayak there.

Oh just wondered...There's that hole on the left side of Mosqito Island, right?
