We are looking at a champion right now and it has a 1999 merc optimax 200 it has 330 hours has any one ever heard of people haveing problems with this motor? thanks

Yes, mostly electrical and with that many hours + that old anything can happen. I would want to know if this motor has had good regular maintenance. Just have it checked out before buying it, as you should with any boat. You might look at forms here, http://www.iboats.com/boatprices.html
