I was out there early with my son. We caught nothing. The wind was blowing and the water was still pretty dirty. Visability was amybe 3-4 inches and lots of sticks/trash floating in the water.

My wife and I fished the mouth of Hickory Creek yesterday and didn't catch any. I didn't see the jet skiers but would have liked to play jet skier skeet with a roadrunner if I had. Saw a few groups of wood ducks and some gadwalls which was cool.

I think the bridge should get a little better in about 3 or 4 more weeks.

Crappie-Mark: I was the one in the tan canoe.

Those jet skiers had some nerve. I just could not believe my eyes and ears when I saw them come through.

not sure what the temp is. it felt pretty cold though. we need a week of 70's! we are getting these stupid cold fronts that last about a day! what is the deal with that!

Just got back from old alton bridge. water is still pretty cold. if i was guessing I would say around 50 to 55 degrees. I caught 2 blue gill and 1 crappie. the blue gill were pretty good size but the crappie was really small. i stayed up until dark, hoping the fish might wake up from their winter sleep. but no such luck. but i agree with marty-mar, a couple more weeks and it should start getting pretty good.

i fished the bridge, first bend and then 2 more bends after the first one. just was trying different spots and different presentations to see what was working. caught the 3 fish with a jig under a bobber.

yeah i caught a brim with a jig and bobber the other day around the banks. i find it strange that a small fish like that would be in that cold of water. i thought they like warm water when they are shallow?

I was probably fishing around 5 to 6 feet deep along the bank. I was not expecting to see a blue gill on my hook!
