I have been hesistant to post about our trip to Emma last weekend because I have been desperately trying to find the cord that connects my camera to my pc and allows me to download the pics. Well, I can't find it!

I am ordering a new one that will take 5 business days to get here so I will have to post the pictures later. I know this sounds like a broken record.

Crague, Brian, and my wife and I arrived to Emma Friday. When I got there I put out a lot of bait. This included a lot of tigers because tigers tend to get "recycled" so to speak and stay in the area. The following days I baited with mushy and scented stuff so the fish had a difficult time quickly getting full.

(Crague the method slinger)

On Friday I caught a nice 24# common and it would be the only capture from the group for the next 24 hours. It was sloooooow.

(the arsenal)

At approximately 1am Sunday morning things began to happen. Crague caught a 14# common, Brian caught a couple of fish but he will have to chime in to tell exactly what they were, and Eva caught a 33# grasser.

(I am holding Eva's 33# grasser because I didn't want to take 5 minutes to pose her with it. I have heard so many stories of them dying I just quickly threw it back.)

A few hours after all the raucous Eva landed an awesome 42# buff. It had a belly like an Israeli carp.

(I don't know whos this is? Crague's maybe?)

Overall Brian caught the most fish and Eva caught the biggest.

We had a great time! One could not wish for better company on the bank.

Nice report. The bass fishing on Lake Austin was good over the weekend! If I knew you guys were there I would have stopped by for a bit.

It's always great when the women out catch the men... wink

So, are you saying I'm out for the ATC, and Eva is going to fish it with you? smile

No way. Don't get me wrong, Eva is great fun to have around and I was happy to see her catch a couple of lumps but she doesn't participate in any of the work that it takes to get them to the hook. lol

She did keep us all fed quite nicely though. I'll give her credit in that department.

Well, I'll keep us fed during the ATC. I promise. It just won't be with food cooked over a camp fire...

It was a very fun and enjoyable weekend. Eva is fantastic. She kept us all so well fed, I though I would burst AND she caught the biggies too!

It was a pleasure spending time with Crague, Jason, and Eva. While the fishing is slow, it's nice to relax and get to know people.

It was mostly camping Friday - Saturday. Then early Sunday morning the feed was on. All of us caught, but Eva reigns as Queen Grass Carp and Buffalo Catcher!

My first common was 22.5 lbs. Next, I caught 22.5 lb White Amur (grass carp). After sun-up I had a slightly larger 23 plus common. I was slow packing up, so I still had my rods in the water at the noon checkout. As luck would have it, I fluked out a mid teen common for the road.

Funny story, some neighboring campers had a little cardboard cut-out shaped like a boy. They named the little character Flat Stanley. As part of their travels, they'd snap photo's of Flat Stanley alongside various items of interest. They just happened to be walking over to snap a picture of Flat Stanley on my rod pod, when that last minute common took the bait and made a run for it. Needless to say, they were verrry impressed even with just a mid-teen. Flat Stanley needs a bath, he got carp slime all over him, but his family is happy and has some carp photo's from their Austin vacation.
