Ran flagging jugs and trotlines on Richland arm Sat and Sun. Caught 25lb flathead on shad in 22 ft and a 25 lb blue one hook away on same line. Had about 27 eaters from 2-5 lbs. Sat eve was good on jugs in 5-8 ft but poor today. Trotlines were ticket Sun. Have a good week.

snowyriver,
I live on the lake in the Jones Branch creek area up the Richland arm. My lines are in timber on the creek channel in 20-25 ft.
Jim,
Good to hear from you. We've been using the same techniques and rigs you showed us on Tawokoni several years ago. I'm looking forward to getting the rods out and working the windblown shallows. Sounds like you are getting good size fish. Dad has a 30 gallon trash can of sour wheat on his dock - you'd be proud.
I need to find out where to order those unweighted cigar corks. I've worn out the ones you gave me. Take it easy.

Kevin,
I have not been that far up either arm of the lake. There are a couple of public ramps up each arm. Not very much public access other than the ramps. I'll get my map out this evening and see what is available. Fisherman's Point down near the dam has quite a bit of bank access for a small fee.

Kevin,
Richland Creek public access is Cheneyboro ramp out of Navarro and Crab Creek ramp off of 3243.
Chambers Creek access is ramp at the 2859 bridge or Mattie Caston Park off of 287.
Main lake free/public ramp is at the end of 309 at 287. You will find some bank access at these ramps.
If you want to camp and fish the bank at fisherman's point - they have a good fishing peninsula.
Hope this helps.

The 309 flats are across the main lake from fisherman's point. If the wind is out of the south I'd fish the 309 flats and Pelican Island area. If from the north or west F.P. would be ok. I have fished the little coves around windsock point (just east of F.P.) with soured grain and punchbait - did very well.
You'll find good shallows and nice drop offs near the 309 ramp. Good luck.
